Management of Retail Outlet Solid Waste Available Over Internet

WasteBid.com Press Release
November 21, 2000

(Fairfax, Va.-Nov. 21, 2000) - WasteBid.com, Inc. announced today that their Internet site is now available for retail outlets to solicit and receive competitive service bids for trash collection services. On May 12, 2000, the Metropolitan Washington Internet startup officially turned on its new dotcom site for registration of waste haulers, firms providing recycling services and regional waste generators. "As of early November, the site is available for the national signup of commercial waste generators, but certain areas of the country are still not available for detailed competitive bidding," stated Mr. Robert Brickner, Chief Marketing Officer of WasteBid and a 28-year veteran of the solid waste management field.

WasteBid.com, Inc., (WasteBid) receives signups from both waste generators and waste haulers. The WasteBid name is synonymous with one of the key functional activities of the company's website. Mr. Brickner said, "… the company will use the Internet to facilitate business between retail outlets across the U. S. with many of the nation's 7,000 solid waste haulers."

Different from most of the new solid waste e-commerce firms that have emerged to address the $50 billion waste management and recycling services and equipment market, Mr. Brickner indicated that, "WasteBid was created as a fair and competitive service for all participants, including the nation's retail outlets that require waste-related services, including recyclables collection in some instances." Only pre-qualified waste haulers, known as Service Providers, will be part of the WasteBid hauler community and eligible to bid on the retail outlet service opportunities. Retail outlet managers are able to go on-line and describe their solid waste needs and level-of-service requirements. WasteBid will provide competitive bid results that it receives from trash haulers in the area of the generator and present them back to the owners/managers.

Additionally, retail outlet managers will soon be able to have recycling opportunities also evaluated by WasteBid's patent-pending "Smart Engine." This WasteBid feature acts as an on-line consulting service to help evaluate and reduce trash costs by providing a "right-sizing" evaluation service for the sizing of trash containers and frequency of pickup. The "Smart Engine" will also be used to suggest increased recycling opportunities for the facility that might also help to reduce the monthly trash bill.

Interested retail outlet managers are welcome to visit the site at www.wastebid.com for a detailed description of the service and registration needs.

WasteBid.com, Inc. is an Internet company based in Fairfax, Virginia and Baltimore, Maryland and exclusively serving the national solid waste management field.
