SmartEngine to be Featured at WASTECON 2002 WasteBid.Com Press Release (Fairfax, VA - October 14, 2002) - Mr. Bob Brickner, Chief Operating Officer of WasteBid.com, Inc. (WasteBid) announced today that WasteBid will participate in the upcoming Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) WASTECON 2002 Trade Show in Long Beach, California on October 28 to October 30, 2002. WasteBid, a technology partner of Gershman, Brickner & Bratton, Inc., will be located in Booth 1331 and have both their Chief Operating Officer and Mr. Kevin Callen, Vice-President of Product Management, in the booth to discuss the on-line capabilities of WasteBid's offerings. While WasteBid is beginning to roll out more of its Smart Tools Application Suite, the patent-pending SmartEngine will be prominently featured at the booth, since it is being marketed to municipal officials to reduce commercial waste audit costs. The SmartEngine helps local businesses evaluate the cost effectiveness of their current recycling program vs. alternatives available in their local area. Currently in Version 2, WasteBid developed the first version of the SmartEngine for the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO). Mr. Brickner indicated that "the SmartEngine is designed to assist solid waste managers address the challenges of increasing business recycling. Residential recycling has been successfully promoted through mass media and other public participation campaigns, but businesses need more motivation to be good Samaritans. Businesses need to see cost savings. The SmartEngine can literally reach thousands of businesses in the community.
