WasteBid Signs Exclusive License Agreement for FleetRoute Route Optimization Software

Fairfax, Virginia (January 21, 2004) WasteBid.com, Inc. (WasteBid) announced today that it has signed a five-year agreement with options to renew, with CIVIX LLC, based in Frieburg Germany, that provides for WasteBid to be the exclusive North American licensee of the CIVIX FleetRoute route optimization software. WasteBid was founded four years ago to offer innovative solid waste management solutions using the Internet and other information technologies.

“The FleetRoute multi-year license provides WasteBid with the continued opportunity to offer cost saving services to solid waste collection companies and other business sectors where route-optimization is critical,” stated Mr. Robert Brickner, Chief Operating Officer of WasteBid, in announcing this agreement. “This new long-term agreement solidifies one of the software niches that WasteBid wants to pursue with both private and public sector collectors to help control and reduce service costs within the marketplace.”

CIVIX developed the routing software over several years, and is currently working with WasteBid staff on various collection vehicle routing projects. The President of CIVIX, Dr. Paul Patterson, stated, “The WasteBid/CIVIX team combines the strengths of the advanced CIVIX FleetRoute optimization software with the business analysis and operations consulting of WasteBid, an innovative firm that with their affiliates, has extensive knowledge of the nuances and unique requirements of waste collection practices.”

Mr. Kevin Callen, WasteBid’s Vice President of Product Management, indicated that “the advanced routing software package offered by FleetRoute, which WasteBid staff have tested and applied to over ten private sector and municipal customers in the United States over the past two years, allowed WasteBid to familiarize itself with the software and provide the opportunity to know and use the capabilities of FleetRoute.
